Honorary Members

Vernon T. O’Brien O.B.E,  L.S., M.I.S., F.R.G.S., M.M.S.I. – (deceased) for his enormous ongoing contribution to the Genealogical Society.  Vern was a very valued member of our Northern Territory community, his expertise in Territory land records, families, explorers, Territory history and cemeteries is beyond compare.

Edna Pratt (deceased) – Edna’s considerable contribution to the Society’s newspaper indexing program has proved invaluable to all researchers.  Her knowledge of all things “War” helped a significant number of members and visitors in finding family.

Florence Lawrence (deceased) – Florence had a particular flair for fundraising, through her efforts and encouragement to others the Society raised sizeable amounts each year.  This award recognizes Florence’s extensive ongoing commitment to the Society.

June Marie Tomlinson RA – for outstanding contribution to the Genealogical Society of the Northern Territory – Secretary since 1982, Convener of the 11th Australasian Congress on Genealogy and Heraldry 2006 Darwin.
